Lately, you’ll be hard up to find a popular bar with Bud Light on tap. These days, folks love supporting local brews, driving the demand for craft on draft. Why opt for a watered down domestic, when your thirst could be quenched with a palate pleasing porter or an explosion of hops in an IPA? When in Austin, you’ll want to hit up (512) Brewing Company, where you’re bound to make best friends with the bartender.

Austin. Such a happy city full of people who love saving the earth as much as they do smoked BBQ, sunshine and salt on the rim. With live music, festivals, food trucks and lakes, it’s easy to make a weekend trip a permanent vacation. We recently spent four days in (and two weeks recovering from) Austin and had a Texas-sized time. Check out a series of posts from the trip, but don’t blame us for your hangover.

Well y’all, it’s Christmas. Before you ever have a chance to let the tryptophan from your Turkey Day leftovers knock you into a slumber, it’s time to get holly jolly. Head to the attic, the shed, the dreaded crawl space, and pull out the tangle of lights and box of ornaments you’ve been stashing since January. Let’s set out to find that Christmas tree.

It was a head to head battle, fueled by blood, sweat and beers. After the testosterone cleared at the end of the day, there would be one winner, but 14 men spent a fall day determined to prove they were the manliest of men at the fourth annual Man Olympics.

Pumpkins, beware. Tis the season for picking. Folks around the South are in the process of re-purposing pumpkins for jack-o-lanterns, pies and some front porch sitting. Finding the perfect pumpkin can be a hard enough task on its own, and those looking for the full picking experience have a whole different challenge. If you don’t do your research, you could wind up gourd to death.

Win, place and show me the money (and a pretty darn good time). Against the backdrop of the rolling Kentucky countryside, Keeneland has been a Lexington tradition since 1936. Complete with tailgating, $2 bets and your fair share of bourbon, a day is just as exciting as any SEC football game.
